It’s nearly the summer holidays, which means only one thing – the kids are off school!  Although it can be fantastic spending some extra time with the kids, it can be difficult to find things for them to do day in day out and to make sure they are amused, particularly in the UK weather.  We’ve put together some ideas for you to give you a helping hand.

Go to a Theme Park

No matter where you live in the UK – there is bound to be a theme park of some kind nearby.  There is usually so much stuff to do when you are there that it can feel like a holiday all on its own.  It’s especially great if it’s a sunny day, and you will find things for kids of all ages from toddlers to teens.  The tickets don’t need to cost a fortune either, you can get some fantastic deals on voucher sites for theme park offers – so make sure you shop around for a bargain. Get ready for some rollercoaster rides.

Go Trampolining

This is a fairly new craze that has taken the UK by storm of late.  Rush UK trampoline parks has a great facility where you and the kids can enjoy a great family fun experience. You can get family passes to make it as cost-effective as possible for you – and there is lots to do.  There are dodgeball courts, gladiator battles, long tumble lanes and more to keep you occupied.  They also have great food and drink offers.  This is also a great option if it isn’t sunny outside.

Have a Picnic at the Park

This is lots of fun and can be done on a budget.  If the sun is shining why not get a picnic bag together and get some chilled drinks, sandwiches, and some goodies and head to the park.  Remember to bring a cooler for the cold food and drinks, and a nice picnic blanket. You can even bring some fun games to play whilst you are there, and don’t remember to feed the ducks if there are any at your local park.

Some Fun on the Beach

If you aren’t going on a beach holiday this year – then there is no reason why you can’t try and get a tan at your local beach, weather permitting of course.  You can get the sunglasses at the ready, buy some ice-cream, and do some sunbathing.  Remember your sun tan lotion though! No matter where you stay in the UK, you will normally only be a train journey or short drive away from a beach – so shouldn’t take you too long.

There you have it.  If you have been struggling for ideas, we hope we have helped you out with some options to keep the kids entertained during the school holidays.
